Perry L Hollins Jr.; Youth Motivation and Learning Mindset Coach
Perry Hollins has been an educator for 17 years. He has spent the past 13 years infusing an African-centered pedagogy into the curriculum of a K–5 public school near Chicago. Before teaching, he worked in radio and television, which equipped him with effective communication skills and creative instructional approaches. Perry earned a BFA in Broadcast Media from Morris College, a historically Black liberal arts college in South Carolina; a master’s degree in teaching from Northeastern Illinois University; and an MS in educational psychology from Capella University, with a focus on achievement motivation in Black boys. He believes 21st-century public schools should develop independent, flexible thinkers who work interdependently to solve problems.
